How old do you have to be to travel to a different country without a parent/guardian?

I am going to stay with my friend in holland, but i am 16 years old my friend is 18 living with his parents, my parents have allowed me to go but .. i dont know if its legal for me to go on my own.. i will probly get ferry or a coach i havent decided yet.. - just asking in advance

minors travel all the time by themselves


as long as your parents know and allow it, its fine
